If you’re like me, you spend 80% of your life by the fireplace 🙂 Even in summers. Well, not summers but winters go through 5-8 logs of firewood a week. That’s a lot of fireplace time.

BEST TIMES
My favorite times to kick up the fireplace is either evenings just after I come back from work, crack open a bottle of wine, Miles Davis on the stereo.. and bliss!
Otherwise (and we actually do more of this) is spend our mornings and days we work from home by the fireplace! We’d start up with one log, a cup of coffee in the mornings, and as it weaves into the afternoons, a cup of hot hibiscus tea! The pups & our kitten love when we’re at home and all of us hangout together in the living room by the fire!
MANTLE
Sharing different views of how I decorated the 2 sides of my mantle:On the front, I went ahead with a simple round mirror and minimalistic styling. The candle holders in brass have been so stylish I’ve been reusing them in different parts of my house, until I found the perfect spot for them. Love when the candles are lit and the flame reflects off the mirror doubling the effect! All these pieces are for my favorite place in the world TARGET!

On the left I found this stunning mirror, a gorgeous $16.99 piece at Home Goods! Bless Home Goods for being my solution to buy all beautiful things at an unreasonable affordable price. I’d gotten these oriental ginger jars from One King’s Lane a few years ago which was my center piece for years, not I found a beautiful spot for it on the mantle to compliment the decor!

PLANTS
You know me and my obsession with plants – yes its a healthy obsessions. I need them, everywhere! I found these adorable hanging plants at Marshall’s – how cute are they? Only $17 ! They totally change up the feel for me! In addition I got faux leaf stems at Target as vase fillers (as opposed to real flowers) – like $4 a pop! My planters are usually from Target as well, but I may have gotten a few from Home Goods & Marshall’s too.
OTHER THINGS: Lanterns, Baskets, Books…
Like the heading says, you need those other lil things to make the space cute! These are just an assortment of things I already had around my house. If you’ve observed my sense of styling is usually reusing 80% of things I already have and just repurposing them to change the vibe! So on one end I have my basket that holds candles, logs, lighter and a blankie usually along with my Hookah!
On the left I laid out an accent rug that has a beautiful persian print. I added my lanterns, some plants and a little faux fur stool to hold my books, on the rare occasion I decide to look through them 😀
CREATING THE MOOD
This is really a mood thing. I have a large wingback chair and a lil faux fur footstool right by the fireplace, complete with a cozy blanket, where I open up my laptop and work with the warmth of the fireplace keeps my toes cozy. My hubby waits for me to get the fire going and he grabs my spot. If not him, Lily hops right into the chair and wont leave!!! Everyone loves this lil nook!!
Some other times, I love “creating the mood” if you may, by spreading some blankies, getting in my ottoman, some tea, cookies and turn up the music! I literally lay by the fireplace while the pups and Lily cuddle up with me. My hubby sometimes brings in his guitar and we just have the most wonderful memories created right by this little spot!

Hope you have a fireplace in your home.
