Tzatziki and Tahini

This is the follow up to my Falafel recipe – no falafel meal is complete without the right sauces! Here’s a short 5 min recipe to get both these delicious sauces ready while your falafels are baking. You can of course use these sauces as dressing on salads !

Ingredients

  • TZAZIKI SAUCE
  • 1 full cucumber – grated
  • 2 cup greek yogurt
  • 2 tbsp Olive oil
  • 2 tsp salt
  • 2 cloves of Garlic (chopped)
  • Cilantro or Dill (for garnish)
  • TAHINI SAUCE
  • 1 cup Toasted Sesame Seeds
  • 2-3 tbsp Olive Oil
  • 1/2 tsp Salt
  • 1/2 cup Greek Yogurt
  • 1/2 Lime – juiced

Instructions

TZAZIKI SAUCE

Grate the cucumber
Place it in a colander and squeeze out all the water (use paper towels to dry it out)
Mix the cucumber, yogurt, salt & garlic
Garnish with Cilantro

 

TAHINI SAUCE

First add the Toasted sesame seeds in a food processor and grind it
Add 2-3 tbsp of olive oil and blend till it resembles almond or peanut butter in consistency
Scoop it out in a bowl
Add yogurt and lime and mix it – and DONE!
Pour into a mason jar and store in freezer or add on your falafels!
