I LOVE Acai bowls! I have one almost everyday!I must admit it took me a while to try them out coz I just didn’t get the *hype* around it, but they’re just so pretty and so healthy and yum, I’m sold!
However, I don’t get why it needs to cost an arm and a leg! I swing by the Whole Foods right across from my work and spend $12.99 everyday to pick up my Starbucks Latte and CYO Acai bowl with Almond sprinkles! Its not rocket science, and literally takes 5 minutes to prepare.. they do it in front of my eyes! So I decided to make me my own Acai bowl 🙂
I picked up the one key ingredient I can’t find anyplace else – Acai powder from Whole Foods.

I always have fruit at home since my hubby makes fresh smoothies every morning. I picked these and kept them aside for toppings!

This is a 2 step process. First you need to prepare the smoothie.
Here’s what you need:For the Smoothie:
1/2 cup Strawberries (frozen)
1/2 cup Blueberries (frozen)
1/2 cup Blackberries (frozen)
1/2 Banana (frozen)
1 teaspoon Chia seeds with Coconut
2 teaspoons Acai Powder
1/2 cup Milk or Almond Milk
1 teaspoon honey
For the Toppings:
1/4 cup Strawberries
1/2 banana (sliced)
1/3 cup Granola
1/4 cup Blueberries
Almond sprinkles or coconut flakes or chocolate chips
Blend all of the first set of ingredients to make the smoothie.

Ensure the smoothie has the consistency as seen below – so you can scoop it up with a spoon.

Scoop the smoothie into a bowl.

Now add toppings of your choice and serve away!

My hubby has been making fun of acai bowls from the time he heard of them. So I didn’t even think of making one for him. He woke up, walked down to the kitchen where I was adding the toppings and it looked so tempting, he actually wanted one for himself!

So I made another and we had 2 pretty acai bowls for breakfast this sunday… healthiest “weekend breakfast” we’ve had in a very very long time 🙂

Hey! I realize this is sort of off-topic but I had to ask.
Does operating a well-established blog such as yours require a lot
of work? I am brand new to writing a blog
but I do write in my journal everyday. I’d like to start a blog so
I will be able to share my experience and feelings online.
Please let me know if you have any kind of ideas or tips for brand new aspiring bloggers.
Appreciate it!
